Reporting noise to your council

Noise Pollution United Kingdom

Environmental health handles noise. Have your log and recordings ready before you contact them.

Noise complaints go to the environmental health team at your local council. Evidentor shows you the contact details and the noise reporting page for your council.

Before you contact them

  • Have your log of dates, times and durations to hand.
  • Know where the noise comes from, as far as you can tell.
  • Be ready to say how it affects you.

Reporting

You make the report yourself, using the council website form or phone number. Evidentor does not submit it. Ask for a reference number and note it alongside your evidence.

If the noise is threatening or there is a disturbance in progress, that is a police matter rather than an environmental health one.

You report this yourself. Evidentor helps you gather and organise evidence. It does not send reports to the police, councils, platforms, schools or employers on your behalf.
